THEATRE: Lost Lear
Saturday 23rd July, 2022 - 20:00€15 – €18
“Who is it that can tell me who I am?” ― King Lear, Act I Scene IV
Riverbank Arts Centre is thrilled to present preview performances of Lost Lear, an ambitious new production directed by Dan Colley and featuring an ensemble of exceptional theatre artists.
Lost Lear is a very (very) loose adaptation of King Lear, examining the self and that part of us that’s inaccessible to others. Fast-paced and thought-provoking, Lost Lear invites us into the world of Joy (Venetia Bowe), a woman with dementia, who is being cared for through a method where people live inside an old memory.
Following the national and international tour of A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Dan Colley and company’s Lost Lear, will preview at Riverbank Arts Centre before the world premiere in Autumn 2022.
Lost Lear is co-produced by Riverbank Arts Centre and Mermaid Arts Centre and supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Fishamble’s New Play Clinic.
