Riverbank Arts Centre is delighted to host The Essay and Oisín from writer-director Alba Fernandez and produced by Danilo Zambrano.  The Essay is a short about a hard-pressed mechanic who reluctantly listens to her brother’s essay about the aftermath of a tragedy. Starring Tom Egan, Sarah Jane Seymour.

Oisín tells the story of a single mother longing for connection who must choose between her autistic son and the girl next door. It stars Claire J. Loy, Sarah Jane Seymour and Rian Sheridan.

Oisín is a Kildare Short Grass Film commission, funded by Dormant Account funding and was shot on location in County Kildare.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with panel  Alba Fernandez (director/writer/cinematographer), Claire J. Loy (lead actor), Sarah Jane Seymour (lead actor), Dave Ryan* and Natasha Waugh (chairperson/host).

*Dave Ryan is a Youth Worker with In Sync Youth & Family Services based in Athy & Newbridge. He has worked as a leader for the KLGBT group since 2018, working with young LGBTQI+ people aged 14-17 from all across Kildare & West Wicklow, as well as providing support and outreach to schools in the county around LGBTQI+ awareness.
