Concert in aid of Barretstown Children’s Charity
The Moon and Sixpence is a novel by W. Somerset Maugham first published in 1919. Not quite as old, but almost, is the well-loved Kildare band, The Moon & Sixpence who get together for charity events from time to time over the past twenty years.
Originally formed by the late Des Byrne of The HideOut pub in Kilcullen and John Reidy from Newbridge, the band has gone from strength to strength with other fine musicians joining the band as the years progressed. With a backline of piano, bass and drums, the frontline has rhythm and lead guitars supporting Siobhan Hurley on lead vocals.
