Women of Words: A Day of Writing Instinct and Inspiration

This afternoon session will feature a captivating conversation between Newbridge author Miriam Mulcahy, (This is My Sea) and acclaimed author Olivia Fitzsimons (The Quiet Whispers Never Stop). They will delve into the various inspirations that fuel their writing endeavours and explore the diverse array of sources that contribute to their creativity.

Women of Words is funded by the Kildare County Council’s Brigid 1500 Programme.

Olivia Fitzsimons is a writer from Northern Ireland. Her debut novel, The Quiet Whispers Never Stop (2022), was shortlisted for the Kate O’Brien and Butler Literary Awards, and was one of the Irish Examiner Books of the Year for 2022. She is a contributing editor at The Stinging Fly and commissions This So-Called Writing Life essay series.
