Riverbank Arts Centre presents Inside Outside, a new exhibition of work by ceramic sculptor Isobel Egan. Isobel has developed this series of wall mounted ceramic sculptures evoking themes of space, stillness and containment. Her aim through the sculptures is to pique the curiosity of the viewer and invite them to explore initially hidden aspects of the pieces.
Inspired by space and architecture, she works with porcelain as the intrinsic characteristics of the material, its translucence and delicate paper-like quality enables the realisation of her concepts.
Isobel’s work has been described as strong, humble and extremely fragile. Her sculptural pieces join the simplicity of form to the complexity of an inner perspective or space.
Join us for the launch of Inside Outside on , Saturday 7th November, 6pm.
The exhibition will be opened by Dr. Audrey Whitty, Ph.D., Keeper of the Art and Industrial Division (Decorative Arts and History), National Museum of Ireland.
Isobel will be giving an Artist Talk on Friday 4th December, at 7pm. Full details here.
