Hailed as one of the most innovative and intimate music documentaries, this fully authorised portrait of famed music icon Kurt Cobain, Montage of Heck tracks the artist from his earliest years in Aberdeen, Washington through to the height of his fame with Nirvana and explores his final unhappy unravelling with depth and understanding.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Brett Morgen who had unprecedented access to Cobain’s personal archive, Montage of Heck expertly blends Cobain’s personal writings, art, music, and movies with candid interviews from his family and closest friends. Animation is used to dramatise recordings and bring Cobain’s doodles and musings to vivid life.
