Candlelit Tales Awakening Brigid
Saturday 31st January, 2026 - 20:00

Candlelit Tales bring their unique style of musical Storytelling to tell the tale of Brigid as part of Kildare County Council’s Brigid, Spirit of Kildare Festival, 2026. Featuring live musical accompaniment, just as Brigid would have wanted, be she a Saint, a Goddess, or perhaps a bit of both.
Candlelit Tales have been telling stories in this nation of storytellers since 2014, driven by a shared passion for Irish mythology and expression. Over the years, they have developed a unique, naturalistic and expressive style, breathing new life into old stories. Live music is the heartbeat of all our shows, and a live original score composed by a team of talented musicians drives the rhythm of the storytelling, weaving through the tale and sweeping the listener away.
Some say Brigid’s cloak covers us in a shroud of cloud to keep the colder climate away. Others say it was divine power she was gifted for her cloak to be spread over her home in Kildare. Either way, it’s an old story that we’ll tell in honour of the Goddess-turned-Saint, made new again.
Candlelit Tales will also facilitate a Storytelling Workshop on Saturday 31 January at 2pm. Places available to book now!
