Collaborating across generations.
Dan Colley, Artistic Director of Collapsing Horse Theatre, will lead a workshops for Grandparents and Grandchildren on storytelling, puppetry and what different generations have to teach each other. We sometimes assume that older means “wiser”, for this workshop we will assume that older means “different”, and so through storytelling and theatre skills, we will explore each participants’ different perspective simply as it is. The workshop is inspired by a short story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez called “A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings” and we will work with some of the themes to help us. No experience with theatre or the Marquez story necessary, just an interest in the ideas and a willingness to get involved.
