Culture Night at Riverbank Arts Centre 2022

Culture Night returns to Riverbank Arts Centre on Friday 23 September 2022 for a night of FREE EVENTS!

Meet the Artist: Exhibition Tours with Caoimhe McGuckin – 6pm to 8pm

Unfortunately the planned artist’s tours of FATHOM can no longer take place on Culture Night. You are welcome to visit our galleries between 6pm & 8pm and a member of our team will guide you around the exhibitions.

Fighting Words Creative Writing Workshop – 6.30pm – 8pm

Interested in writing? Want to explore different worlds and characters? Join Fighting Words Kildare in Riverbank Arts Centre on Culture Night, for an adult creative writing workshop. Fighting Words workshops are full of creativity as you will write original stories collectively and individually with the help of Fighting Words mentors.

Warning: you will have a good laugh while getting some writing done!

Under the Palms Music Workshop – 7.15pm – 8pm

Under the palms is a rhythm workshop using Brazilian instruments, to include agogo, caxixi, pandeiro, surdo and many more. The workshop will be led by two Brazilian percussionists, Marcio Tarktarov and William Kanela, and a jazz drummer Miles Ronayne. No prior music experience needed.

Kasia Eliasz Jazz Octet – 10pm 

Kasia Eliasz Octet will explore the music of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Tom Jobim and other classic jazz and Brazilian standard. Participants of the Under the Palms workshop will also have the opportunity to play the instruments during the show and be a part of a real jazz band.
