3rd Irish Military Seminar

Ireland has a long, proud military tradition. The aim of this third annual seminar is to look at all aspects of Irish military history, drawing chiefly on events and personnel from within our nation’s past.

Saturday, 15 June 09.00 a.m. – 16.00 p.m. Full day of presentations from noted historians: Myles Dungan, Dr. Ruan O’Donnell, Dr. Leeann Lane, Dr. T. Ryle Dwyer, Des Ekin and Dr. Mary McAuliffe.

Topics: The Battle of Kinsale; Dorothy Mcardle, Irish Neutrality in World War II; IRA Border Campaign 1956; Margaret Skinnider; The Irish at the Battle of Little Big Horn.

Hosted by Kildare County Council and the Kildare Decade of Commemorations Committee, in association with JuneFest, Prosperous Heritage Festival, An Cosantóir, Ireland’s Military Story, Merrion Press, Creative Ireland and Into Kildare.
