Write a Story Session
10.30am to 12.30pm
(Suitable for ages 10-12yrs)
With this two-hour story writing session book-lovers and aspiring writers will have the chance to work with the wonderful author Sarah Webb. Devising their own title, characters and plot, the children will create their own illustrations and story ending. Sarah will work with each participant, helping them add their own ending to the story the group has created.

How do you write a great story? What makes a character jump off the page and excite the reader?
This workshop with Sarah Webb will use word and story games to focus on the basic key stones of writing - words, sentences, characters, and plot. Sarah will work with the class to discuss the important elements of writing and help them to hone their writing skills
Favourite words, how to make 'boring' sentences more exciting, memory and its importance to writers, feelings and emotion, and how to use these in your work are topics which will be looked at throughout the workshop. Sarah will also introduce some fun writing games to help aspiring authors get their creative juices flowing.
About the Author
Sarah Webb is the author of the hugely popular Amy Green, Teen Agony Queen for young teen readers. She has also written the Kids Can Cook series for children, and nine bestselling adult novels. Before becoming a full time writer, Sarah was a children's bookseller for years and years and is now the children's reviewer for the Irish Independent.
Sarah is also on the Board of Children's Books Ireland and writes a popular blog on writing and children's books. She loves giving Magic Writing workshops, meeting and working with young writers.
