Join artist Laura Fitzgerald in an exciting and intricate drawing workshop.
Share stories, memories and inventive tales, and, using paper and drawing tools, Laura will help you to turn your memories and imagination into interesting images and 3D shapes.
Let your imagination run wild and watch you memories come to life in your hands.
No previous art making experience is necessary for this workshop, materials provided.
Suitable for 8-14 yrs olds.
About the Artist:
Laura Fitzgerald is originally from Inch, Co. Kerry. She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art fromthe National College of Art & Design, Dublin (2007). Laura recently completed a Per Cent for Art commission of drawings and sculptures for Presentation Primary School, Portarlington. She was artist in residence in the Waterford Healing Arts Trust in 2009 and received the Belmont Mills National Bursary in 2008. She exhibits throughout Ireland and her work has been selected for exhibition at Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin this autumn. Ideas which inform her work relate to memory, nostalgia, real and imagined histories, perspective, the minuet and the unseen. Laura’s practice combines drawing, installation, sculpture and video.
