Shipwrecked is the critically acclaimed show from the innovative early music theatre group eX.

Featuring an international cast including some of the world’s most celebrated trad and early music virtuosi, Shipwrecked recounts the stranger-than-fiction story of Francisco de Cuéllar, a captain from the Spanish Armada shipwrecked off the coast of Ireland in 1588. A fugitive on the run from the English, de Cuéllar emerges from the horrors of the drowning and slaughter of his crew mates to tell a story of his unlikely survival, his welcome by Irish chieftains, his many amorous escapades and his eventual escape.

The amazing soundtrack that accompanies the show features music of the Spanish and English renaissance, rousing Irish music of the 16th century and a remarkable fusion of all these styles.
