Sensation
Tom Hall's comedic drama starts with a frantic bout of self pleasure in a field full of sheep followed by a glance over a shoulder. At this juncture you're thinking 'please, not another bestiality flick'. Fortunately, Hall's love story turns out to be a likeable, sensitive study of affection between two lonely people from opposite sides of the social divide: he (Domhnall Gleeson, son of Brendan), a recently bereaved, sexually-frustrated heir to a farm; she (Luanne Gordon), a wordly-wise but unhappy prostitute with a cunning plan. Although uncomfortably ugly at times and very melancholic in tone, it's also quite humorous and its message optimistic
