Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare’s best known tragedies. The play, which revolves around a pair of “star-crossed lovers” who fall in love against the backdrop of their families ancient feud, has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.
 
In this production Celbridge Youth Drama takes a new approach to this timeless love story by setting it in the 1980s. This allows scope for both the audience and the actors to explore some of the overarching social and economic issues of this decade which have a resounding echo in today’s society.
