Fruitcake starring Mary McEvoy May 20th

Starring Mary McEvoy, Fruitcake starts off as a cookery demonstration but is in fact an account of one woman’s life and how each ingredient reminds her of past memories and decisions made which ultimately changed the course of her life. Even though some lessons came late she now lives a fruitful, productive life because of this.

Funny and poignant, this play has something for everyone. Fruitcake by Alice Barry was commissioned by Meath County Council Arts Offifice and first performed as part of the Meath Bealtaine Festival 2010. A co-production with Noggin Theatre Company, Fruitcake is touring as part of the 2011 Bealtaine festival to 11 counties and 25 venues.

Kildare County Council Arts Service, in association with Riverbank Arts Centre will also present an outreach performance of Fruitcake at St. Vincent’s Hospital Athy.
