"The Stage, a Book and the Silver Screen" is the latest box set release from the very talented and theatrical Duke Special, and Riverbank is delighted to announce that Duke (aka Peter Wilson) will be bringing this very unique and unusual experience to Riverbank. In this highly theatrical show, Duke Special steps beyond his normal repertoire to take the audience into a world of train tracks, tramps, romance and violins. Consisting of three parts: The Silent World of Hector Mann, Huckleberry Finn, and Mother Courage and her children, the crux of this show lies with the story of Hector Mann… Mann only ever made 12 silent movies before he mysteriously disappeared in the late 1920s, and with this event, Duke Special and his band will present an evening of songs specially written for each of these much overlooked silent era gems. Using music, celluloid, 78 vinyls and spoken word, Duke will take the audience on a unique steam train ride into the beautiful, sinister, conflicted world of the legend who is Hector Mann.
