This event is a showcase of some of the work created and developed during the programme, with 9 new pieces of theatre being premieried.

In October 2009, Kildare County Council Arts Service and Riverbank Arts Centre sent out a call for applications for a mentoring programme for new and emerging writers and directors from County Kildare. The purpose of the programme was to support new and emering theatre talent from County Kildare.

Fishamble: The New Play Company came on board to mentor the 2 groups. The directors were to be mentored by artistic director Jim Culleton and the writers were to be mentored by literary officer Gavin Kostick.

The groups have been meeting once a month since January 2010. The purpose of the sessions is for the group to discuss and develop their practice as writers and directors in a supportive environment, with industry professionals and their peers.

To  mark the end of the programme there will be a showcase of new work written and directed by members of the group. The showcase will take place here in Riverbank Arts Centre on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th of November 2010 at 8pm.

This is an exciting opportunity to see an broad selection of new work. Ranging from sci-fi to the absurd and beyond, and with each individual piece lasting approximately 10 minutes, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

If you like theatre and have an interest in experiencing something new and exciting, this is a great showcase to see. With many of the pieces going into full production next year, this is you chance to say 'I saw it first at Riverbank!'
