Riverbank Arts Centre Presents Anuna, St Conleth's Church Friday 22nd January 20

Best known in Ireland for their association with the Riverdance phenomenon, Anúna's unique performance style and ethereal, haunting music have garnered critical acclaim and an enormous international following over the last decade.

Now this outstanding ensemble intends to support choral education in Ireland through an exciting new training initiative, spearheaded by Anúna's founder, Michael McGlynn and managed by Artery (Arts Management).

Members of Anúna will deliver a pilot series of singers' workshops taking place throughout the country, from July to November.   These events follow on from the success of recent workshops including the Cork International Choral Festival,  a sold out workshop series in Japan, work with the vocal ensembles at the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University in the USAand Michael McGlynn'smentoring of  X-Factor competitors in Finland earlier this year.

The workshops are aimed at a very broad range of participants, including individual singers and established local amateur choirs.  Observers are also very welcome to attend.  In general, the workshops will focus on  individual singers' posture, voice production and other "physical" aspects of singing.  Through supportive exercises, demonstrations and break-out training sessions led by Anúna's core education team,  participants can expect to learn a number of simple yet excellent techniques to assist in the development of their own singing skills and general musicianship.
