On a winter’s night…. Festive traditions from around the world.

Why do we have tinsel on our Christmas trees?

Why do we get oranges at the bottom of our stockings?

Why are there 8 days in Hanukah?

Inspired by the highly successful ‘Joy to the World’ exhibition which since 2007 has been seen by thousands of people in Co. Kildare, this fun and thoughtful play is the perfect antidote to Christmas commercialism.

“On a winter’s night” will cast a warm glow on children and adults alike as we discover the origins and significance of traditions which people across the globe hold dear. Fusing storytelling and theatre, this hour long performance will engage and delight audiences at a time of year where for millennia, people have gathered to celebrate family, light, hope and new life.

Join us in Riverbank Arts Centre for a play celebrating Christmas and Festive traditions from around the world.
