Welcome to Riverbank Janurary to March 2012
Hello there and a very warm welcome to the January to March 2012 season at Riverbank Arts Centre. If ever there was a time to stay positive and keep spirits up, that time is now. Here at Riverbank we have a broad selection of highly entertaining events to help you do just that.
From the get-go, we have plenty of treats for music lovers Martin Hayes, Kevin Crawford and John Doyle join forces to form a stellar trad line-up in The Teetotallers; Jack L will provide a heart-warming intro to 2012 while Eddi Reader and the outstanding Scottish group Lauwill wow audiences. Hailed as ‘the best band in the world right now’ (Channel 4), this is certainly one to catch.
For theatre fans the choices are many and varied- DYAD set the mood in January with The Diaries of Adam and Eve, a look at the complicated world of relationships; Beckett fans have treats in store with Beckett x 3 and Gare St Lazare’s The End. We’ll also have a new piece of comic theatre from Fishamble with The Wheelchair on My Face. Jasango Theatre return to Riverbank with My Brilliant Divorceand Maria McDermottroe gives a superb solo performance in Bagladyat the end of March. We also look forward to productions from local groups Crossfire Theatre, Open Door Theatre and Silken Thomas Players.
As always, there is a host of great events and workshops for children and families to enjoy. Some firm favourites and classic characters will delight children of all ages. Cinema fans will not be disappointed this Jan to March as we have a strong film line-up which includes a weekend of Werner Herzog films and a unique Cinema/live music performance in Salome- an experience worth seeing!
