About Us

Summer at Riverbank July to September 2010
The Summer is finally here and, fingers crossed, it’s shaping up to be a sunny one (so far!) Regardless of our unpredictable weather, one thing we can be certain of is the action packed and highly entertaining programme at Riverbank this Summer.
We have workshops to suit all ages and interests ranging from drama to art, music, drumming, filmmaking, writing, not to mention the very exciting contemporary dance week with expandance.
There’s a lovely line-up of children’s events including theatre Papilio’s Dot, a magical production of the Secret Garden, and you won’t want to miss the Storytelling Caravan as it rolls up (literally!) at Riverbank on July 17th.
Big names coming our way this season include Mundy, Altan, comedians David O’Doherty and Colin Murphy, Brendan Grace and the legend of Patsy Cline lives on with a super performance from Sandy Kelly.
On the home front, we have some new productions from Griese Youth Theatre in early July, The Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival will host an international poetry event here on July 29th and Newbridge Musical Society treat us to Motown in September. From July 12th to 16th, artist Zoe O’Reilly brings us the collaborative work of a group of Newbridge-based asylum seekers in a New Bridge.
Last but by no means least, Riverbank Arts Centre is on the move with a very special comic event. On July 9th, Basil, Sybil and Manuel of Faulty will present you with an unusual dining experience during a 4-course meal at the luxury Keadeen Hotel- not to be missed…
We do hope you enjoy!
